Quartermaster

The Quartermaster keeps track of Troop equipment and sees that it is in good working order. Maintains the organization and storage of troop equipment in the Scout Room, in the designated place on the stage of the Sangha Hall, and in the troop trailer. He may also suggest the acquisition of new equipment and reports the need to repair or replace any current equipment. The Quartermaster:

  • Keeps an inventory and condition records on Patrol and Troop equipment.
  • Makes sure equipment is in good working condition.
  • Issues equipment and makes sure it is returned in good condition.
  • Makes suggestions for new or replacement items.
  • Works with the Troop Committee member responsible for equipment.
  • Sets a good example
  • Enthusiastically and correctly wears the Scout uniform
  • lives by the Scout Oath and Law
  • Shows Scout spirit.

Qualifications: Should show a commitment to the Troop 87 code to "Respect the Gear". Should be familiar with the correct use, maintenance, and storage of Troop 87's equipment. Should be available to check troop equipment in and out, especially around campouts, or coordinate with a designate.
